TWS’ Nick Wesdock honored for successful conferences amid COVID

Nick Wesdock, TWS’ business relations and conferences manager, has been recognized by Connect, an organization of event professionals and meeting planners, for his success in organizing annual TWS conferences through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wesdock was named one of Connect Association’s 2021 “40 under 40,” a group of conference organizers it named “The Revivalists” for their work in responding to a pandemic that caused many organizations, including The Wildlife Society, to shift their conferences online.

“Nothing will ever be the same after COVID-19. But that’s OK. What we have witnessed is a new generation of bright young minds playing crucial roles across the board to keep the events industry on its feet,” Connect wrote.

After 2019’s in-person TWS annual conference set a record attendance, Wesdock steered TWS’ virtual 2020 Annual Conference to success with a new record of 2,534 attendees. This year’s virtual conference saw similar attendance.

“I’m incredibly proud to have led the transition of our 2020 conference to virtual in about four months,” Wesdock told Connect.
