In the featured article for this issue, researchers looked at how megafires are forcing a declining prairie grouse into more marginal landscapes. The team concluded that marginal croplands and Conservation Reserve Program lands may act as refugia following megafires for lesser prairie-chickens (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus).
