Scientists from 153 countries issue climate warning

A report by over 11,000 scientists in 153 countries warns that the earth “faces a climate emergency” and sets out six policy goals to address it. The study published in the journal Bioscience was led in part by a pair of Oregon State University ecologists and calls for “bold and drastic” efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions. “Despite 40 years of global climate negotiations, with few exceptions, we have generally conducted business as usual and have largely failed to address this predicament,” the study says.
