Salmonella outbreak affecting songbirds in western U.S.

A salmonella outbreak is affecting songbirds throughout the western United States. Affected birds have been reported from the West Coast to Idaho. Residents have reported birds acting strangely. Wildlife officials are recommending residents stop backyard bird feeding or clean their feeders regularly. The disease is spread through bird droppings.
