Court Issues Settlement in Montana Lynx Trapping Case
A 2013 lawsuit between the state of Montana and Friends of the Wild Swan, Alliance for the Wild Rockies, and WildEarth Guardians was settled by a U.S. District court on September 23. The settlement establishes lynx protection zones in northwest Montana and the greater Yellowstone region to help prevent the accidental take of Canada lynx (Lynx canadensis ) in traps meant for bobcats (Lynx rufus).
