A prescription for nature

Doctors in Canada can now write a prescription for their patients to get outside. Through a partnership with the PaRx initative, Parks Canada is helping distribute 100 national park passes. Doctors can prescribe an Adult Parks Canada Discovery Pass to patients—particularly those who live close to parks and can take advantage of htem. Similar programs were already in place for local and regional parks.

“There’s almost no medical condition that nature doesn’t make better,” Melissa Lem, a family physician and director of the PaRx initiative, told the Washington Post.
