The Wildlife Society, along with other organizations represented by America’s Wildlife Conservation Partners, signed this letter in support of the Wildfire Emissions Prevention Act of 2026. This bill would remove regulatory conditions within the Clean Air Act that limit the use of prescribed fire for wildlife habitat and forest health management. The letter details the importance of prescribed fire as a tool for land managers to create healthy ecosystems and sustain habitat for fish and wildlife, as well as preventing catastrophic wildfires.
