How do you coax a moose out of a swimming pool? New Hampshire Fish and Game biologists found themselves asking that question after a young bull moose (Alces alces) ended up in a pool in the town of Bedford. The moose “was on the move looking for mates” amid breeding season, the department said. Complicating matters, the pool had no stairs, so state biologists and local conservation officers put in a set of wooden steps and coaxed the moose toward them. “He was able to find his way out and back into the woods,” the department wrote.
