USGS accepting applications to host Climate Science Center

Applications are now being accepted to host the Department of Interior’s North Central Climate Science Center.

The NCCSC, which was founded in 2011 and is operated by the U.S. Geological Survey alongside seven other regional CSCs, provides resource managers and other decision makers with the necessary tools to respond to climate-related impacts to wildlife, ecosystems and their surrounding communities. Eligible host institutions include state, tribal and local government entities, nonprofit organizations and academic institutions.

The application period ends April 9 at 3 p.m. Eastern. Host institutions are expected to provide expertise to help achieve the CSC mission and will be eligible for projects and funding in the future. An informal webinar will be held on Feb. 12 at 12 p.m. Eastern. It will answer questions about the proposal review, evaluation and selection process.
