TWS 2021 Awards Season: Service Awards

The Wildlife Society is accepting nominations for awards through May 1, 2021. The Awards Program annually honors professional excellence, recognizes outstanding achievement, and highlights contributions to wildlife science and management.

The Wildlife Society presents several service awards, including Chapter and Student Chapter of the Year Awards, Student Chapter Advisor of the Year Award, and Honorary Membership Award. These awards recognize and celebrate individuals and chapters who have provided continuous and outstanding service to The Wildlife Society.

The Chapter and Student Chapter of the Year Awards recognize exceptional achievement by TWS chapters and student chapters. Nominees will be evaluated on the following six criteria: promoting professional standards, enhancing knowledge and technical capabilities, encouraging professional stewardship of wildlife and TWS goals, advocating sound basis for conservation policy decisions, increasing awareness and appreciation for conservation and the wildlife profession, and demonstrating financial stability and growth of the chapter. The Student Chapter Advisor of the Year Award recognizes a TWS student chapter advisor for their exceptional annual mentorship and contributions to the development of young professionals. Nominations should demonstrate the advisor’s enthusiasm for the wildlife field and support of students in their pursuit of careers; creation or enhancement of opportunities for students to gain experience; efforts to grow and support a diverse, equitable, and inclusive student chapter; and promotion of professional standards. The Honorary Membership Award recognizes individuals who have provided exemplary service to the Society in any capacity. Eligible individuals include both active and retired wildlife professionals who are members of TWS and have made many valuable contributions to the wildlife profession over a long period of time. All four award nominations are due by Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Please check individual awards websites for necessary submission materials and means of submission.
