Lauren Ruotolo joined TWS staff in 2023, serving the organization as the Director of Development overseeing fundraising initiatives. With over ten years of experience in the nonprofit sector focused on environmental science education and agriculture, she brings a passion for wildlife conservation.

Lauren graduated from Flagler College where in addition to receiving a B.A. in Sociology and Environmental Studies, she helped build an on-campus recycling program and student community garden. Lauren has worked in development for the past six years helping organizations to increase their capacity and operating budgets. She is a successful grant writer who has raised over $2 million during her career and has extensive experience organizing profitable fundraising events and campaigns.

Lauren spent seven years on Hawaii Island exploring tropical agroforestry and native culture while fundraising for local nonprofits. Lauren now resides in coastal Connecticut and finds inspiration in tending to gardens, picking up marine debris, and hiking with her Hawaiian border collie, Fern.
