Legislation would steer $60M to fight CWD
Montana Sen. Jon Tester has introduced legislation to direct $60 million toward efforts to combat chronic wasting disease across the country. The Great Falls Tribune reports that Tester, a Democrat, seeks to fund research grants to study the disease and help states and tribes create management plans to control the disease and respond to newly infected areas.
The deadly disease has impacted cervid populations in 23 states and two Canadian provinces and has no cure.
