Lake Tahoe water quality up from historic low

Attendees at this year’s American Fisheries Society and The Wildlife Society Joint Conference in Reno, Nevada will have a clearer Lake Tahoe to enjoy. Scientists at the University of California, Davis, Tahoe Environmental Research Center report that the lake’s waters have improved from 2017, when it reached its worst level in half a century due to weather and runoff. Scientists reported that 2018 tests revealed clarity to a depth of 70.9 feet, an improvement of 10.5 feet. Its historical clear depth is 100 feet, the Associated Press reports.
