The Wildlife Society submitted comments to USFWS in response to a Request for Information on Implementation of Drain Tile Setbacks. Our comments emphasized the efficacy of the 2024 Drain Tile Setback Rule in ensuring protections for wetlands on private agricultural lands in the Prairie Pothole Region. These wetlands provide critical habitat for breeding waterfowl, shorebirds, and amphibians, and habitat for other species of wildlife. TWS asks USFWS to uphold and continue to implement the 2024 rule.
