TWS Chapter Supports Wetlands Preservation

The Kansas Chapter of The Wildlife Society has declared their support for the City of Wichita to build a new wetlands preservation park. While some of the land owned by Slawson Companies — a commercial real estate company — will be used for retail space and restaurants, as per the previous owner’s wishes, a portion of the land will be preserved as a park. The park will have trails, boardwalks and viewing areas and will be used for education purposes in order to bring attention to the environment.
