Diana Laura Terrazas Esparza is a Mexican conservationist and biologist from the state of Chihuahua and a master’s student at Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez. She earned her biology degree from Universidad de Sonora, where she developed a broad foundation in biological sciences and cultivated a passion for wildlife conservation and community engagement.
In addition to her academic background, Diana has professional experience in administrative and organizational support, where she strengthened her skills in communication, scheduling, records management and providing quality service in bilingual environments. Her ability to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English allows her to collaborate across diverse cultural and professional settings. Diana is passionate about creating positive social impact through conservation, education and student support initiatives, and she is committed to increasing accessibility and representation within the wildlife profession.
As the International Student Outreach Chair for the The Wildlife Society Latin American & Caribbean Working Group and a committee member within the The Wildlife Society Student Development Working Group, Diana serves as a bridge between both groups to strengthen international student engagement across Latin America and the Caribbean. In this role, she helps share scholarship and job opportunities, supports the development of student chapters throughout the region, collaborates on initiatives that promote equitable access and inclusion in wildlife conservation, and assists in building stronger connections among students and professionals across the Americas. As part of this newly established position, she also contributes to shaping and refining the role to better support the evolving needs of international students in conservation.
