Annual Meeting

The 2019 Annual Meeting of the South Carolina Chapter will be held October 16, 2019 at the Sandhill Research and Education Center near Columbia, SC. Abstracts for presentations will be received through August 15. The Executive Board for SCCTWS will review and select abstracts to be presented during the meeting. Each presenter will have 15 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions and answers.

Abstracts will be selected by the following criteria:

  • Technical quality.
  • Contribution to our understanding of species, populations, communities, ecological processes, management practices, conservation initiatives, communication, or policy issues.
  • Diversity (we will select from a broad range of topics and academic institutions)
  • Affiliation with TWS (membership with student chapter, state chapter or main organization will be used as a tie-break in selecting presentations).

Abstracts must be under 300 words and should include a statement of objectives, brief description of methods, results, and conclusions.

Please submit abstracts to Billy Dukes at dukesb@dnr.sc.gov by August 15, 2019.

Persons interested in submitting a poster should send in a title and brief summary of their poster for consideration. Posters used at the meeting should be printed and sized no larger than 34” tall x 44” wide. Display boards and mounting materials will be provided for the selected poster presenters. Poster presenters must attend the meeting and be available during the afternoon break to answer questions about their poster.

Presenters will be notified in early September of their selection.
