Welcome to the Mexico Chapter
The Wildlife Mexico Chapter TWS A.C. (WMCH) was founded in 2023 under Mexican legal statutes. Its mission is to conserve Mexico’s terrestrial and aquatic flora and fauna, promoting their sustainable use for regional and community development in Mexican rural and urban areas. The Wildlife Mexico Chapter TWS A.C. and The Wildlife Society (TWS) successfully combined efforts to establish the Mexico Chapter. There is a growing number of wildlife professionals committed to wildlife education and research programs in Mexico; however, there was no national society to unify these efforts. The WMCH will integrate Mexican professionals, students, and the public in an unified effort to promote the sustainable management of Mexico’s natural resources. This Chapter will disseminate knowledge through national and international conferences, various publication formats, and radio and television broadcasts. Additionally, this Chapter provides opportunities for professional development and educational and research access by integrating Mexican wildlife biologists in an international community with wildlife science expertise through The Wildlife Society.
