Sunday April 16 (evening) @ Forbes Natural History Building of Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS) in Champaign, IL – check-in/social/reception (food and drink provided)

Monday April 17 (all day) @ i-Hotel’s Chancellor Ballroom in Champaign, IL – talks/poster session/banquet/silent auction/raffle (breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided)

Tuesday April 18 (morning) @ i-Hotel’s Technology Room in Champaign, IL – ICTWS business meeting and TBD (breakfast provided)

STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS

The ICTWS executive board is pleased to announce the call for student travel award applications to support student travel to the upcoming meeting. Applications are due April 2nd. Student travel awards will be capped at $300 per student and total funding will be limited to $1500 across all students – so definitely apply sooner rather than later. Students do not have to be a current ICTWS member and their registration for the meeting will automatically make them a member.  Please see the google form to apply and more details.

The 59th annual meeting will take place at  I Hotel & Conference Center (Monday and Tuesday) and Forbes Natural History Building of the Illinois Natural History Survey (Sunday reception). It is approximately a 5-minute walk between these two venues. Parking will be available free of charge at the i-Hotel even for those not staying at the i-Hotel. Terms and Conditions of Reservation: Cancellations of individual reservations are accepted until 24 hours PRIOR to arrival. Should cancellation occur after the cancellation deadline, up to 100% of the stay will be charged.

UAVs (Drone) SYMPOSIUM

A mini-symposium about applications of drones will occur on Tuesday morning (18 April 2023). We have four presenters lined up and if weather cooperates we also plan to have a nearby field demonstrations with Q&A. The field component will offer participants real hands-on experience operating a drone!

SILENT AUCTION

Would you be willing to donate an item for a silent auction at this year’s annual meeting to help fund the ICTWS Student Travel Grant Program?  Please consider bringing an item or two to the annual meeting.  Looking forward to seeing your interesting finds!
