Nebraska Chapter: Annual Meeting
2018 Annual Meeting
The 2018 Nebraska Chapter of The Wildlife Society annual meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn in Kearney, Nebraska February 28 through March 2. Registration is now available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nebraska-twscmps-annual-meeting-and-fire-exchange-symposium-tickets-41779167615. Early registration through January 28 is $125, late registration is $140. Student registration is $20. A draft agenda is available here.
This year we are excited to be combining our annual meeting with the Central Mountains and Plains Section of The Wildlife Society and the Great Plains Fire Exchange. One of the breakout sessions will be on prescribed fire. We have received abstracts and are making the full agenda in the next couple weeks so that will be available soon.
The morning of February 28 will be board meetings for NETWS and CMPS with the conference plenary session beginning at 1 PM. Wednesday evening will be a dinner and social. Thursday will be continued conference sessions including the fire symposium. A dinner, social, and auction will be held on Thursday evening. Friday will be our student-professional workshop which is being developed with prescribed fire as the topic including live fire if weather conditions are appropriate.
A block of rooms is available at the Holiday Inn for this event at a rate of $93/night. This block is available for booking until January 26. The block will be released after that date and with the tourist season for cranes it may be difficult to find a room in Kearney if you don’t get one booked early.
NGPC employees please note that there is a registration option that allows you to register without paying at this time. The Chapter will bill NGPC for all attendees after the event but pre-registration is required.
Please contact me with any questions on this, and I look forward to seeing many of you there.
