Vision

The Central Mountains & Plains Section (CMPS) is a strong and effective voice of wildlife science, conservation, and management for the seven states of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.

Mission

To inspire, empower, and enable wildlife professionals in the CMPS region to sustain populations and habitats through science-based management and conservation.

Here are highlights of what the CMPS Board and Committees have been working on:
 
  • Facilitated connections between State Chapter Leadership and Conservation Affairs Network Reps within CMPS to discover shared priorities & challenges (Coordinated by Daly Edmunds, CMPS Board Member At-Large)
  • Continued Bylaws revision, including consideration of a new structure to more effectively include all seven State Chapters
  • Drafted information for a Board position description as part of the CMPS Operations Manual development to help onboard new officers
  • Awarded Wayne Sandfort Student Travel Grant Applications
