Joshua Rapp Learn has encountered back alley hyenas in Ethiopia and wrangled an anaconda in the Brazilian Pantanal. He covers wildlife management and conservation news stories for wildlife.org — the website of The Wildlife Society. He also writes and proofs staff articles for the membership magazine, The Wildlife Professional.

As a science writer, Josh has contributed wildlife articles to publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, Hakai Magazine, Canadian Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, New Scientist and The Washington Post. An Edmonton native, he completed a master’s degree in journalism at Ryerson University in Toronto. He is now based in Washington, D.C.
