Annual Meeting

The 2018 Utah Chapter of The Wildlife Society Annual Meeting will be March 21-23 in Vernal, UT. The conference will be held at the Uintah Conference Center, 313 E 200 S, Vernal, UT 84078.

Meeting Theme: Fire and Ice of Wildlife Management- Life In An Arid Landscape

There will be prizes for best talks, posters, and photos!

Call For Abstracts, Papers, Posters

We invite submissions of contributed papers and posters on topics of wildlife science, management, ecology, conservation, education, or policy for the annual meeting of The Utah Chapter of The Wildlife Society March 21-23, 2018.

The deadline for abstracts is February 23, 2018

Participants will be accepted based on their technical merit, relevance, and/or contribution to our knowledge. Participants will be notified of abstract acceptance by March 2, 2018.  Papers and posters could present results from completed studies or works in progress. (1) Complete applications will include a properly formatted abstract (see link below: Abstract Format Guidelines) of no more than 300 words and (2) a completed cover sheet (see link below: 2018 Paper and Poster Cover Sheet). Formatting guidelines must be followed or your application will be returned for revisions. Please name attachments UTTWS_2018_YOURLASTNAME and email your submissions to Keeli Marvel: keeli.marvel@gmail.com. PowerPoint presentations must be Office 2007 compatible and be brought on a flash drive.

  3. Conservation Achievement Award
  4. Certificate of Appreciation

Deadline to submit award nominations is February 23, 2018. 

Enter to win our Annual 2018 Photography Contest! Prizes will be awarded to contest finalists.
Information and Rules:
Photos will be accepted in the following categories:
(1) Wildlife Species
(2) Scenery
(3) Biologists at Work
1. Photos MUST be printed 8 x 10 inches in size and unframed.
-Contestants may enter up to 3 photographs per category.
-Awards for “Best In Category” and “Best Overalll” will be voted on by the membership at the Annual Meeting
– Prizes will be awarded at the banquet.
*****Photos must be submitted at the registration desk at the annual meeting

Scholarships/Grants In Aid

The Utah Chapter of The Wildlife Society (TWS) offers Grants-in-Aid for graduate and undergraduate research. Students last year received a combined $4,500 and will again this year!

1st place-$2,000, 2nd place- $1,500, 3rd place- $1,000
