Watch: Revisiting Colorado’s successful lynx reintroduction
More than 20 years after efforts began to restore lynx to Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, state wildlife officials say the project has been a success. Colorado Parks and Wildlife estimates 200 lynx occupy the San Juans, with more dispersed throughout the state. On a recent CPW podcast, biologists reflect back on the lynx (Lynx canadensis) reintroduction to look for parallels for the state’s upcoming wolf (Canis lupus) reintroduction.
