The National Wild Turkey Federation has decorated TWS member Ron Regan for his contributions to the conservation of the game birds. At its 50th annual convention, the federation gave Regan the C.B. McLeod Award, which was created to honor outstanding volunteers at the organization. “It would be nothing short of an understatement to express my humble gratitude for this national recognition from a conservation giant,” Regan said in a press release. Regan is the executive director of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. He began his career in 1979 working with wild turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo) via radio telemetry tracking technology. “Those were magical days, and my career, now entering its 46th year, has been full of magic as well. My passion and joy in conservation and serving the hunting community have been grounded in part by the incredibly rich contributions and the professional friendships with countless NWTF volunteers and staff across the country.”
