Amid fires, Colorado refunds thousands of hunting licenses
Massive wildfires burning across Colorado have closed off large swaths of public lands, prompting the state to refund more than 2,800 hunting licenses this year. The closures include all of Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, where almost 30% of the landscape was burned.
“This is the biggest closure of the Arapaho and Roosevelt that we are aware of, and it is the longest,” public affairs specialist Reid Armstrong told Colorado Public Radio.
