Video: Oregon Wildlife Agency Releases Rare Kit Fox Footage
The Oregon wildlife agency released a video this week showing rare (albeit silent) footage of a kit fox (Vulpes macrotis) den in the eastern Oregon desert complete with frolicking pups. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has been tracking the animals since 2012 in an effort to figure out the numbers of the animals in the far northern end of their range. The foxes normally live in parts of the southwestern U.S. and Mexico, where populations are more numerous.
