Give Back Membership
The SDWG has developed a system to coordinate Give Back donations to students. Through the Give Back program, members who renew their membership are eligible to donate a free, six-month trial membership to someone who is not a current TWS member. If you recently renewed your TWS membership or will be renewing soon and are interested in donating a Give Back membership to a student, please fill out this form. If you know a student who is not currently a TWS member but is interested in receiving a Give Back membership to experience TWS, please send them this form.
Committees
The SDWG has three standing committees:
- Awards
- Communications
- International Committees
The acting committee heads for each are the SDWG Treasurer, Secretary and International Liaison, respectively. If you are interested in joining any of the committees or have any questions regarding SDWG committees, please email tws.sdwg@gmail.com.
Awards Committee
The SDWG Awards Committee facilitates the advertisement, judging, and administration of awards and grants offered by the Working Group. If you have any questions for the Awards Committee, please email tws.sdwg@gmail.com
Communications Committee
The SDWG Communications Committee facilitates communication among the working group’s student members through social media, newsletters and meeting announcements. If you have any questions for the Communications Committee, please email tws.sdwg@gmail.com
International Committee
The SDWG International Committee facilitates communication and coordination with students outside the United States to ensure greater representation of students across the organization on a global scale. The International Committee works to elevate international students and highlight their unique perspectives, experiences, and challenges in the wildlife field. Led by the SDWG International Liaison, the committee comprises the SDWG Chair, the Latin American and Caribbean Working Group (LACWG) Chair, the LACWG International Student Chair and the LACWG’s Minority Serving Institution Chair. Both working groups work together to provide support for international students seeking professional development or study/work abroad opportunities, guidance on forming student chapters, funding assistance and other activities.
Meetings
We hold an annual meeting each year, which takes place at The Wildlife Society’s Annual Conference. In addition, the officers meet 8-10 times per year.
