The Student Network for Amphibian Pathogen Surveillance (SNAPS) leverages student-power to conduct ongoing and cost-effective Bsal surveillance by incorporating surveillance into undergraduate curriculum. Early detection of wildlife disease is inherently challenging, requiring broad spatiotemporal surveillance that can be expensive, time-consuming and logistically challenging. The Bsal Surveillance Working Group of the North American Bsal Task Force is developing a new surveillance program that addresses the challenges of traditional approaches while providing a unique educational experience for students.
