Join the North Central Section and Rangeland Wildlife Working Group to learn about private lands management! This webinar will feature several professionals working in private lands management ranging from USFWS private lands biologists, University extension, non-governmental organizations, and will include a testimony from a private landowner in Wisconsin. This webinar will be geared toward undergraduate and graduate students and early career professionals seeking to learn more about career opportunities in the private lands management realm.
Topics to be covered will include: 1) general background of land use changes in the Midwest and the challenges associated with these changes, common land management practices implemented in the Midwest; and 2) education, in-degree skills, and outside-of-degree skills needed to be successful in private lands management and conservation. We will also be featuring a Wisconsin landowner’s testimony covering why they sought out help to manage their property, the importance of private lands biologists, and how we, as managers, can better collaborate and educate private landowners on land management practices for wildlife.
