B.S. in Biology with an emphasis on zoology from San Diego State, Current Ph.D. candidate in Genetics & Genomics at North Carolina State.

“I am from Portland, Oregon, which I credit for invoking my love of the natural world. During my B.S. I performed research on sharks and rays. Since enrolling at NC State, I have worked on projects with California sea lions, Galapagos sea lions, and American black bears. Genetics and genomics are powerful tools and applicable to any subject. With these tools, I hope to work with as many species as possible. I have a my own mini zoo at home, with a bearded dragon named Hades, a labradoodle named Tucker, and a Maine Coon named Harvey. In my free time I love cooking, baking, hiking with my fiancé, reading, and watching basketball. I am excited to get more involved in the working group!”
