The Wildlife Society collaborates with other organizations to strengthen our ability to communicate science-based wildlife conservation and management strategies to policy decision-makers. TWS is a leading member of several coalitions that address a range of wildlife issues, from securing adequate funding for wildlife conservation programs to preserving habitats and combating invasive species.
Alliance for America’s Fish and Wildlife
The Alliance for America’s Fish and Wildlife is a dedicated coalition of national organizations focused on the passage of the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act; legislation that would dramatically increase the funds available to conserve and monitor America’s 12,000 species of greatest conservation need identified within every state and territory’s wildlife action plan. TWS Sections and Chapters are also involved on the regional, state, and local levels with the passage of this legislation through multiple affiliated coalitions and efforts.
American Wildlife Conservation Partners
The American Wildlife Conservation Partners (AWCP) coalition consists of nearly 50 sportsmen and women organizations, conservation groups, and professional societies that came together in 2000 to work collectively in charting the course for the future of wildlife conservation in the United States. Members of this broad coalition are dedicated to ensuring the continued maintenance and vitality of wildlife resources and providing for sustainable public use and enjoyment of those resources.

The Cooperative Alliance for Refuge Enhancement (CARE) is a national coalition of 23 wildlife, sporting, conservation, and scientific organizations, together representing more than 16 million Americans. CARE works to educate Congress, the Administration and the public about the financial needs of the nation’s National Wildlife Refuge System (NWRS).
National Cooperators Coalition
The National Cooperators Coalition (NCC) is an alliance of state wildlife agencies, universities, and non-governmental organizations that support the U.S. Geological Survey’s Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Units Program. The mission of NCC is to build a stronger and more coordinated base of support to serve the funding needs of the program and the research, education, and technical assistance needs of the nonfederal program cooperators.

TWS is a founding member of The National Horse & Burro Rangeland Management Coalition, a diverse partnership of 23 wildlife conservation and sportsmen’s organizations, industry partners, and natural resource scientific societies working together to identify proactive and comprehensive solutions to increase effective management of horse and burro populations and mitigate the adverse impacts to healthy native fish, wildlife, and plants and the ecosystems on which they depend.

The U.S. North American Bird Conservation Initiative (NABCI) Committee, the U.S. based counterpart of the international entity, is a coalition of state and federal government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and bird initiatives working to ensure the long-term health of North America’s native bird populations. The U.S. NABCI Committee creates a unique forum for government and non-government partners to address shared bird conservation challenges and priorities.

The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) is a coalition of leading hunting, fishing, and conservation organizations, labor unions, and individual grassroots partners working together to preserve the traditions of hunting and fishing in the U.S. TRCP accomplishes its mission in the spirit of Theodore Roosevelt by expanding access to places to hunt and fish, conserving fish and wildlife and the habitat necessary to sustain them, and increasing funding for conservation and management.

TWS is a founding member of the Coalition of Natural Resource Societies (CNRS), a coalition of professional and scientific societies that focuses on management and conservation of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
