Please join us for our 54th Annual Meeting this April in Juneau! The Conference Planning Committee is working hard to bring you an exciting week of workshops, special sessions, social events, and more — details below!

SCHEDULE & PROGRAM
The schedule and full program for the 2025 Annual Meeting can be viewed below. Note that we’ve added some new events:
- We’ll be holding a townhall-style Member Listening Session on Wednesday, starting with some updates from National TWS followed by time for questions and thoughts from members on the impacts of recent federal actions, Chapter engagement on conservation and policy issues, and other topics relevant to the Chapter.
- During our business meeting (Wednesday after lunch), we will hear updates from the Conservation Affairs Committee (CAC) on recent and considerations for future engagement by the Chapter on various issues. If you are able, please review the AK retiree letter prior to Wednesday afternoon for discussion.
- The UAF Student Chapter will host a Quiz Bowl on Thursday Afternoon. The last AK Chapter Quiz Bowl was held at the 2019 Juneau meeting — please join us for the fitting and triumphant return of this wildlife trivia and networking event!

VENUE INFORMATION
Our regular meeting sessions will be held at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall from Wednesday to Friday, April 2nd to 4th. The Banquet (April 3rd at 6pm), Genetics 101 workshop (April 1st 9am – 5pm), and Opening Night Student/Professional Mixer (April 1st 5:30 – 9pm) will be held at the Hangar Ballroom. We also encourage meeting attendees to join us for Pizza Nite at Devil’s Club Brewing Company on Wednesday, April 2nd as an “unofficial” evening social event (we will not have reserved space or seating).
All venues are within a short walk of one another, the Baranof Hotel, and the amenities of Downtown Juneau.

REGISTRATION & ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Registration is still open! This year, we are offering a free virtual attendance option for those who aren’t able to join us in Juneau.
Abstract submissions are closed.

LODGING
We’ve reserved room blocks at the Baranof Hotel Downtown and the Juneau Hotel, both just a short walk from both the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall and the Hangar Ballroom.
Baranof Hotel: A special group rate of $209 per night is valid for stays between Monday, March 31st and Friday, April 4th. Bookings must be completed by March 1st, after which any remaining rooms may be released from our block.
Juneau Hotel: Our room block has 13 suites available for $189/night and 2 suites available for $199/night. All suites include a full kitchen and a washer/dryer. Participants must call the Juneau Hotel at 907-586-5666 and reference “The Wildlife Society” to book by March 15th, after which any unbooked rooms will be relinquished.

STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS
The Alaska Chapter of the Wildlife Society recognizes that travel costs can be a significant barrier for many and we are committed to supporting student attendance at our Annual Meeting in Juneau. After registration, students will receive a link to apply for travel support. If you are a student in need of financial assistance to attend our Annual Meeting, we encourage you to apply! Student travel applications are closed.

CHAPTER AWARDS
Please consider nominating a colleague for our Chapter Awards. Descriptions of award criteria and nomination procedures for the 2025 Annual Meeting can be found below. Award nominations for 2025 are closed, however we invite members to submit nominations for next year.

ART CONTEST
Introducing the 2025 AK-TWS Art Contest!
Theme: “Habitats, Wildlife, and People of Alaska”
This contest is open to all art media, including photography, paintings, illustration, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry, etc.
To facilitate participation for in-person and virtual meeting attendees alike, we have two options for entry:In-Person Contest: Bring your art to Juneau for display and voting during the Annual Meeting.
Online Art Contest: Follow this link to upload your artistic submission (photography or photo of mixed media piece). Deadline: March 31st @ 11:59PM. Voting will occur online.
There will be separate opportunities to vote for your favorite online and in-person submissions at the 2025 conference. The winner in each category will receive a $150 cash prize and a TWS hat!
