BLM conducts emergency roundup of feral horses in Nevada

The Bureau of Land Management has completed an emergency capture of more than 1,000 feral horses in Northern Nevada. Officials said they gathered 1,178 horses and removed 873 declared as excess, according to the Associated Press. Another 129 mares were treated with a fertility control drug and returned, along with 151 studs. The capture, which took place between Sept. 21 and Oct. 4, was due to a large wildfire that burned over 600 square miles in June.
