Maine conducts first winter bird survey

Maine is conducting its first-ever statewide survey of wintering birds. The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is updating its Maine Bird Atlas, a citizen science project that tracks bird species in the state. The department is asking residents to report bird sightings online. The state is home to more than 190 wintering bird species.
