Ontario heightens CWD precautions

The government of Ontario is increasing protections for deer, elk and moose from chronic wasting disease. The disease has not been found in Ontario, but it has affected cervids in Quebec and neighboring states in the United States. The changes to its Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act restrict the movement of live, captive cervids and high-risk cervid parts from hunted animals and expand prohibitions on the use of lures and attractants made from cervid parts.
