Did a park’s webcam catch a crime in progress?

The bearcam at Alaska’s Katmai National Park and Preserve is supposed to let viewers catch a live glimpse of brown bears (Ursus arctos) as they feed on sockeye salmon heading upstream at Brooks Falls to spawn. But the camera also caught a man appearing to break a federal law that prohibits getting too close to feeding bears. The man will likely be charged, E&E news reports, as a wider presence of cameras in natural areas makes catching wildlife crime easier.
