Announcing the new issue of The Wildlife Professional

As we get ready to honor of military veterans in the United States on Nov. 11, the new November/December issue of The Wildlife Professional features a cover story on conservation on military lands. According to NatureServe, a nonprofit that provides scientific data on endangered species to Department of Defense and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service decision makers, military lands have more listed and at-risk species per acre than any other lands in the country. The article, written by TWS Science Writer Dana Kobilinsky with the help of TWS’ Military Lands Working Group, looks at some of the special challenges wildlife biologists tackle on military installations.

This issue also features a special focus on wildlife education assembled with the cooperation of TWS’ College and University Wildlife Education Working Group and contributed articles on eDNA sampling for detection of wildlife and Wisconsin’s beaver management plan.

Finally, don’t miss our salute the winners of TWS’ 2017 Awards and Photo Contest.
