Watch: A day in the life of a wolf

Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a wolf? Researchers have captured first-ever video footage showing an entire day experienced by a wild wolf (Canis lupus) in Voyageurs National Park. Attaching Vectronic-Aerospace camera collars on a lone wolf named O2L, researchers followed the canid an early day in June last summer as it traveled long distances looking for food, slept and even captured a deer (Odocoileus virginianus) fawn as prey. The researchers note that while the wolf killed prey in this particular day, this doesn’t happen every day. They usually go about 3-5 days between kills. Watch O2L as it crosses the border from northwestern Minnesota into Ontario.
