Outdoor coalition pursues inclusion initiative

A new coalition of outdoor recreation companies is working to raise awareness of equity and inclusion issues in outdoor experiences. The Together Outdoors coalition, a partnership of the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable and THOR Industries, seeks to provide training, grants and other resources for manufacturers, retailers, service providers and others in the outdoor industry.

“Maximizing access to outdoor recreation is a core objective of the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable,” said Lindsey Davis, vice president of ORR, in a statement. “Achieving that goal requires more than building infrastructure and creating new parks — it also means enacting policies and partnerships that ensure inclusivity and access to all Americans — no matter who they are or where they live.”

The coalition includes hunting, fishing, RVing, biking, hiking, camping and other outdoor recreation industries.
