Officials wary of wild pigs entering U.S. from Canada

Wild pigs (Sus scrofa) have long plagued the South. They’ve made inroads in Canada. Now, residents worry they threaten to spread outside Canada into border states like Montana and North Dakota.

States and federal agencies are monitoring the border, testing waterways for eDNA and preparing to use shoot feral hogs from the air if they see that they have crossed the border.
