A new report seeks to make roads less of a barrier to wildlife

Roads can be deadly for wildlife. That’s particularly true in California, where busy freeways wind through landscapes heavily used by wildlife. To try to address the need for greater habitat connectivity, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has released an updated report on the effects of infrastructure on wildlife. The new report prioritizes which roadways, railways and other infrastructure pose the greatest barriers to wildlife on the move.
