Stu-Pro Networking Event and more return for 2018 conference
The Student-Professional Networking Event returns to this year’s conference schedule by popular demand after being notably missed in Albuquerque. It will take place on Tuesday evening from 7:30-9:30. Other great networking opportunities can be found at the Student Chapter Leaders Lunch, TWS Working Group Meetings, Associated Networking Receptions, and the new daily poster sessions in the Members Activity Center. Get engaged with the Society at this year’s conference by participating in or cheering on your favorite team at the Quiz Bowl. Students are also encouraged to sit in on meetings such as the TWS Council or Annual Members Meetings. As always, career-planning opportunities are aplenty during the conference week, with the usual Resume Review and Certification Application Assistance sessions. Students certainly won’t want to miss the Strategies for Success: Professional Development for Students and New Professionals symposium, designed for them by the conference’s student activities subcommittee. Careers with Federal Agencies will combine several of TWS’ year-round supporters into one session for students to easily compare careers opportunities within each agency. Workshops will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7, and are open to students; they are another great way to advance your skillset and knowledge.
Conference registration opens next Wednesday, May 23! Visit twsconference.org for more information about these and all conference events and activities. Please note that times and locations are subject to change.
