Come learn mammal track and signs from expert, Jim Lowery. This two day workshop will help you refine your skills identifying tracks and signs of gray fox, red fox, coyote, domestic dog, bobcat, raccoon, opossum, striped skunks as well as rodents and lagomorphs. Your registration includes The Tracker’s Field Guide 2nd Edition written by Jim Lowery, Canid Track Monograph, breakfast, lunch, and refreshments for Saturday and Sunday.

Workshop registration and light breakfast spread with beverages

Field practice at Arroyo Grande Creek in Oceano, Ca.

Sunday October 19th

Oso Flaco Lake Natural Area, 2957 Oso Flaco Lake Rd, Nipomo, CA 93444

Sunday 7:30am

Field practice at Oso Flaco Lake Natural Area and Oceano Dunes SVRA

Field work in the dune system west of Oso Flaco Lake to practice and evaluate survey methods such as transects, track stations, and preparation of substrate. Box Lunch will be provided.

Sunday pm

Indoor training (lecture, plaster casts, PowerPoint, practice with photos) at the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dune Center in Guadalupe, Ca.
