The Wildlife Society recently received a $15,000 grant from the Dallas Safari Club Foundation (DSCF) to help fund TWS’ 2017 Leadership Institute.

The Wildlife Society’s Leadership Institute provides leadership training to 10-15 TWS members each year. The Leadership Institute is aimed at early-career professionals who are two to three years out of school that are currently working full-time as a wildlife professional. DSCF’s grant will help provide funding for this year’s cohort to attend and participate in discussions at TWS’ 24th Annual Conference in Albuquerque, NM.

The DSCF provides grants each year to a variety of different organizations, conservation projects, and research efforts in support of Dallas Safari Club’s mission “to insure the conservation of wildlife through public engagement, education and advocacy for well regulated hunting and sustainable use.” DSCF is the newly formed foundation — as of August 2015 — of the Dallas Safari Club (DSC). DSC is an international organization  working “to conserve wildlife and wilderness lands, to educate youth and the general public, and to promote and protect the rights and interests of hunters worldwide.“
