New TWS Partner a fundamental resource of habitat conservation programs

As a new TWS Premier Partner, Caterpillar, Inc. again demonstrates its commitment to the environment and to communities through their support of The Wildlife Society. Caterpillar has been a leader in corporate sustainability initiatives, understanding the benefits of our natural infrastructure and the need to restore and conserve our beaches, marshes, wetlands and forests. Many TWS members across North America work with Caterpillar products daily.

Caterpillar will provide support for TWS members as a sponsor of the Annual Conference and by providing financial support to the Society’s e-media channels, including wildlife.org and the eWildlifer. All of these support areas help keep TWS members well-informed while also helping them connect, interact and work with each other in managing wildlife and habitat conservation.

“We’re proud that a global industry leader like Caterpillar has seen the value of a partner relationship with The Wildlife Society,” said Ed Thompson, TWS chief operating officer. “Their support makes a strong statement about their level of commitment to wildlife professionals and the important and challenging conservation work they do every day.”

Sustainable development for Caterpillar means leveraging technology and innovation to increase efficiency and productivity with less impact on the environment. Caterpillar products and staff are involved in daily restoration projects across the globe, often managed by TWS members.

“The world needs natural infrastructure — forests, prairies, agricultural lands, estuaries, coastal landscapes and wetlands — and at Caterpillar, we know infrastructure,” said Karl Weiss, a vice president at Caterpillar overseeing the Earthmoving Division. “Working with organizations such as The Wildlife Society, we are helping to catalyze the restoration and conservation of these important landscapes our growing global community requires.”
