2017 Annual Meeting Information
As you know, we are holding our Georgia Chapter of The Wildlife Society Annual Meeting on Sept. 7-8 in Covington at the Georgia Wildlife Federation Headquarters. We have an exciting array of speakers from around the state (see agenda). A new feature this year is approval for attendees to receive continuing education credits for TWS and SAF professional certification programs. If you have not done so already, please register via the PayPal button below. I have included more information on food, lodging, and directions below. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I’m looking forward to seeing you in Covington.
Food: Lunch on Thursday is included in your registration fee as well as coffee and snacks at the breaks. The Thursday night dinner is a catered BBQ (Cooked by GATWS member and Pitmaster Theron Menken). You must buy a $15 dinner ticket by August 30 so we can ensure there is enough food for attendees.
Lodging: There are a number of conveniently located hotels along I-20 in Covington. Options include Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, and Travelodge among others.
Directions: The Georgia Wildlife Federation Headquarters are located at 11600 Hazelbrand Rd., Covington, GA 30014. The meeting will primarily be conducted at the Alcovy Conservation Center, which is located near the property entrance by the parking lot. Directions from I-20: Take Exit #93. Turn north off exit ramp onto John R Williams Highway 142. Turn right onto Hazelbrand Road (at the intersection with Home Depot). Travel approximately 1.5 miles. Cross over the Cornish Creek Bridge, and turn right into the GWF driveway (across from the Hazelbrand Road Recycling Center). You can park vehicles in the available spots in the lot or south of the center in the grassy field along the power line right of way.
Registration is now open! Use the PayPal button below to register.
