California Mountain Lions Shine in the “60 Minutes” Spotlight

The National Park Service’s 13-year study of mountain lions living (Puma concolor) around Los Angeles was the focus of a recent report on CBS’ “60 Minutes” TV show. Cameras caught the collared carnivores in some unusual locations, highlighting how the large cats are peacefully co-existing in the highly populated area but face deadly threats when crossing major freeways.
